Existing iPhone users can’t wait for the day when the Apple iPhone 4G would be launched. There have been animated discussions in blogs and online forums about what are the likely features to be included in the iPhone 4G. Several sites have also released concept phones complete with pictures and video. Some of the common features that are expected across board are an OLED display, a 32GB memory and a 3.2 megapixel camera. Some people have also expressed a desire for a front camera for video chat and video conferencing. The HD technology in the home entertainment market has really heated up and that’s another requirement – that the Apple iPhone at least be able to record HD videos. The upgrade from 16GB to 32GB is desired so that all your videos and music and even games can be carried around with you at all points in time.
Opinion is divided on whether Apple needs to offer a removable battery. Most people feel Apple will not budge, but others want the ability to change the battery by themselves without having to send back the whole unit. The gaming enthusiasts are expecting faster processors and higher video resolutions through the use of high end graphics chips. If wishes were horses beggars would ride, and so you can always dream of a better battery life along with wanting all these power sucking features!
Most iPhone fans are expecting significant cosmetic changes too. While some are expecting a sleeker version, others want a full QWERTY keyboard, so the wishlists are as diverse as the people themselves.
Some other advanced features that have been discussed about include an RFID chip for m-commerce. Also there are discussions being held as to whether the block on Flash will be lifted and whether a PC version of iChat will be available. There are a few voters for multitasking and video recording to be made available as well. Other software features that would be appreciated include a cut and paste feature and MMS for sending multimedia content through the phone’s network rather than through mail.
There is also talk about Apple launching a mini or a lite version of the iPhone rather than the iPhone 4G as the 4g infrastructure is not fully developed. Others also talk about a CDMA or a Verizon Wireless model being made available.
Apple has a tough job in its hands designing the iPhone 4G. Since it is being widely discussed expectations from the phone are sky high, and if Apple does not impress its fan base with the new offering, they are likely to switch to competitor models. After all the smart phone market is getting more and more innovative by the day with brands competing to offer the newest features.
It is rumored that the launch of the new iPhone 4G could be as early as Jan2010 or as late as a couple of years away. Anyway, till Apple officially announces the iPhone 4G you and I can keep dreaming about our very own iPhone 4G models!
Apple iPhone 4G: Concepts Aplenty

The mobile phone gadget freaks have been busy online for the past few months. Each one of them is designing a concept Apple iPhone 4G with whatever features they wish to see in the Apple iPhone 4G which is likely to be launched in June 2010. They are all waiting with bated breath to see how much the actual iPhone 4G would match the one that they have designed.
Almost everyone has graphically depicted how the Apple iPhone 4G screen would look like and some die-hard fans have even gone to the extent of creating online videos explaining their concept phone.
Most people feel that the iPhone is slightly bulky and are looking for a sleeker and more elegant model.
Almost everyone expects a new screen layout. The shape and material of the phone have also been analysed in detail and everyone seems to have their own preferences. Some prefer the aluminum design of Macbooks while others prefer rounded edges. Some people even expect a slide out keyboard but everyone agrees that it may not really be part of Apple’s plans. Everyone feels that the new model will definitely have external design changes and not just internal feature upgrades.
With regard to internal features, consumers are expecting more powerful smart phones with each passing day and the iPhone is no exception. Most concept iPhones feature a faster model, with a larger memory and more battery life. Most people include a dual core processor in their 4G iPhone model. Some concept phones even include a front camera for iChat! Trust the consumer to want the moon! The question however is how much of this will Apple be able to achieve realistically.
Opinion is divided on what processor and graphic chip should be used, but gaming enthusiasts have included higher video resolutions and better still pictures in their wish list. Some concept phones continue with the Intel Atom processor while others have shown preference to Apple’s own chipset.
Carrier and pricing plans also have been included in discussions about concept phones. Most concept phones prefer the Verizon network. Basically the Apple 4G iPhone shall be available to the network that can provide the 4g infrastructure as soon as possible.
With the increased competition from Google’s Nexus One, Apple iPhone 4G will have to really work hard to capture the market or at least retain its current market share. Consumers today are extremely demanding and that is evident from the numerous concept iPhones that are available online.
Most Apple iPhone 4G concept models are nothing but wish lists. And just like all other things in life, even the iPhone 4G will not satisfy all wishes. We will have to wait for the official launch to actually see how much attention Apple has been paying to these concept phones. Till then – happy dreaming!
